1.World Hindi Conference began at Johannesburg
9th World Hindi Conference began at Johannesburg on 22-Sept-2012. It was inaugurated by Minister of State for External Affairs Ms. Parneet Kaur. South Africa's Minister for Finance, Praveen Govardhanji is the chief guest of this Conference. About 800 delegates from all over the world are participating in this three day conference. The theme of the conference this year is "भाषा की अस्मिता और हिंदी का वैश्विक सन्दर्भ ".
With an estimated 200 million speakers worldwide, Hindi is among the most extensively spoken languages in the world. (ANI).
2. Former footballer Sardar Man Singh Batra Died
Former footballer from Delhi, Sardar Man Singh Batra died following a prolonged illness. He was 88yrs of age.
3. Congress TMC end tempestuous relationship in Bengal
In a tit-for-tat deal, Six Congress ministers on Saturday (22-Sept-2012) resigned from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) -led West Bengal government, completing the end of a three and a half year alliance between the two parties. Later on the day, West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC) president Pradip Bhattacharjee and the ministers met governor M K Narayanan at Raj Bhavan.
4. Union Transport Minister Dr. C. P. Joshi gets additional charge of Railway Ministry
Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Dr. C. P. Joshi have been given additional charge of Railway Ministry on 22-Sept-2012, after the resignation of 6 TMC Minister with Mukul Roy and others.

5. China Tests New generation Inter-continental Ballistic missile
China on Tuesday (18-Sept-2012) announced testing of a new generation of inter-continental ballistic missile, Dongfeng-41, with a strike range of 14,000 km and capable of carrying multiple nuclear warheads.
6. RBI Slashing down the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) by 25 basis points
The Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) will come into effect from 22 September 2012. So far in 2012, RBI has slashed the CRR by 150 basis points. As per 22-Sept-2012 these are the updates:-
CRR- 4.50% (Slash down by 25 basis point to 4.5% to 4.75%)
SLR- 23%
Bank Rate- 9.00%
Repo Rate- 8.00%
Reverse Repo rate- 7.00%
