1. Mamnoon Hussain elected as Pakistan President
On 30 July 2013, India-born Mamnoon Hussain, was elected as the 12th President of Pakistan. 73-year old belonged to the PML-N Party.
2. SN Hanumantha Rao (Former  IndianTest Umpire) died
29 July 2013, SN Hanumantha Rao, the former Indian Test umpire passed away on 29 July 2013 at a private hospital in Karnataka. He was 83 years of age.

3. Metro Line Contract in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia, on 28 July 2013, announced that it awarded over 22 billion US dollar in contract for the development of metro line in the Riyadh(the capital of Saudi Arabia)
4. RBI Monetary Policy for 2013-14
Reserve Bank of India released the First Quarter Review of Monetary Policy for 2013-14 on 30 July 2013. The highlights are as following:
• The repo rate was kept unchanged at 7.25 %.
• Reverse repo remains at 6.25 %.
• Cash reserve ratio unchanged at 4.00 %.
• Bank rate stands at 10.25 %.
5. Poverty Level of Bihar and Odisha
As per the latest data released by Government on 23 July 2013, Odisha and Bihar registered the sharpest decline in poverty levels between 2004-05 and 2011-12
