- Scientist professor C.N.R.Rao and Cricketer Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar selected for Bharat Ratna Award. Note: Bharat Ratna award is highest civilian award.
- In Maldives Abdullah Yameen won the Maldivian Presidential Election by defeating Mohammed Nasheed. Abdullah Yameen belongs to Progressive Party. He has been sworn as the sixth President of Maldives.
- The latest ICC Test ranking is released and India moved on 2nd position. South Africa is at 1st Position and Enland is at 3rd Position.
- 1st Integrated Checkpost of India-Bangladesh border was jointly inaugurated by Minister of Home Affairs Mr. Sushilkumar Shinde(India) and Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir (Bangladesh).
