1. Chief Justice of India S.H. Kapadia retired
Chief Justice of India Sarosh Homi Kapadia, retired from the post after serving the Supreme Court for two and a half years.
Note: Justice S.H. Kapadia, who turned up to be 65 years in age sworn in as the 38th Chief Justice of India. While holding the office as a judge for a period of 22 years, Justice Kapadia never took a leave.
2. New Chief Justice of India- Altamas Kabir
Justice Altamas Kabir sworn in as the 39th Chief Justice of India (CJI) by President Pranb Mukherjee.. As CJI, Justice Kabir has less than a year as he retires on July 18, 2013.

4. Centre plans to provide jobs to nearly 7,000 youth from J&K
Centre plans to provide jobs to nearly 7,000 youth from Jammu and Kashmir during the current fiscal under the 'Himayat' scheme, a job-oriented skill development project launched last year.
5. India's heaviest satellite GSAT-10 successfully launched
Satellite GSAT-10 of India was successfully launched on board Ariane-5 rocket from European spaceport in French Guiana. The rocket placed GSAT-10 in the elliptical Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) within 30 minutes and 45 seconds of its launch from the French station just after injecting the European co-passenger ASTRA-2F in the orbit.
6. Delhi Half Marathon Winners- Edwin Kipyego and Yimer Wude
Edwin Kipyego from Kenya and Yimer Wude from Ethiopia won the men and women's race in the 5th edition of the Delhi Half Marathon. Edwin took 1 hour and 55 seconds to finish his 21 KM race and Yimer completed hers in 1 hour 12 minutes.
7.Iraq targets $500 bn in energy-related investment
Iraq will invest around $500 billion in energy and linked industries with the help of the private sector by 2030, generating around $6 trillion in revenues, the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy said on Sunday(30-Sept-2012).
