1. Pandit Ravi Shankar, Died in California
Renowned Indian musician Pandit Ravi Shankar passed away in San Diego (California) on 11th December 2012. He was 92 years old. He was admitted to the Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla on 6th December 2012
2.Union Government Spent Over 1768 Crore Rupees for Its Own Promotion
The Union Government spent more than 1768 crore rupees in previous three years for its own promotion, revealed the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry
3.India Successfully test fired Agni I Ballistic Missile
India on 12 December 2012 successfully test-fired its indigenously developed nuclear capable surface to surface Agni-I ballistic missile with a strike range of 700 km from a test range off Odisha coast.
4. Telecom Commission approved 1500 crore Rupees subsidy for BSNL
On 12th December 2012, The Inter Ministerial body Telecom Commission of India gave its nod to a 1500 crore Rupees subsidy to state owned BSNL for supporting its Landline operations in rural areas.
5. Scientists Developed a 100 Times Faster and Sensitive Laser Explosives-Detection Device
Scientists of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in the 2nd week of December 2012 developed an all-new 100 times sensitive and faster laser device than any other explosives-detection device, for detecting even the minor traces of explosives.
6. Bihar received the Silver Icon Web Ratna Award 2012
On 10th December 2012, Bihar's public grievance redressal website received the Silver Icon Web Ratna Award 2012. The public grievance redressal website http://bpgrs.in has been developed by the state government as an e-governance initiative and has various features for quick and transparent disposal of complaints.  
7. Bihar Govt Approved New jail Manual
On 11th December 2012, The Bihar government approved new jail manual that has provision for elaborate computer generated record of inmates including their voice samples, replacing the existing 88-year-old prison guidelines formulated in 1924.
The new manual has following Guidelines: 
-visitors to the jails would be registered through computer.  
-Visitors complex would be established in all the jails where visitors' photographs would be taken on computer along with their fingerprints.
-The jails would have elaborate computer generated details of inmates including their voice recordings.
8. Indian Team No.3 in ICC T-20 Ranking:
Shrilanka- with 127 points at No.1
West-Indies with 122 points at No.2
India -with 120 points at No.3 [From India only suresh Raina(5th position) in Top-10 players].
